Stacking Bank Offers, Coupons & Cashback — A Beginner's Guide
How to combine a sale price, coupon, bank card offer and cashback to pay the lowest possible price on Indian shopping sites.
2 min read
The best online prices in India rarely come from a single discount. They come from stacking — layering two or three offers on the same order. Here's how the layers usually work and in what order they apply.
The four layers
- Sale or deal price. The price the store shows on the listing.
- Coupon. A store coupon on the product page ("Apply ₹100 coupon") or a code entered at checkout.
- Bank or payment offer. An instant discount for paying with a specific credit card, debit card, EMI option or UPI app.
- Cashback or rewards. Money or points credited after the order — from the store, your card, or a cashback service.
Layers 1 and 2 reduce the price you see. Layer 3 reduces what you pay at checkout. Layer 4 comes back to you later.
How to stack them
- Start with the deal price. That's what we post on AlibabaLoot.
- Clip any coupon shown on the product page before adding to cart.
- Open the offers section on the product page or the payment page to see which cards or UPI apps give an extra discount, and the minimum order value for each.
- Check eligibility rules. Bank offers usually have a minimum cart value, a maximum discount, and sometimes exclude EMI or certain card types.
- Pay with the card that gives the biggest instant discount, then check whether your card's own reward points add more on top.
Common mistakes
- Adding extra items just to reach a minimum cart value — only worth it if you needed them anyway.
- Assuming cashback is instant. Most cashback arrives days or weeks later and can be cancelled if you return the item.
- Forgetting that a coupon may not combine with certain bank offers. The checkout page shows what actually applied.
